Associate professor at the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES). Her research focuses on the quantification and reduction of atmospheric pollutants and GHG emissions from animal agriculture, as well as the management of waste and non-point sources, she is the leader of Output 2.

Dr. Vigdis Vestreng is a senior adviser at the Norwegian Environment Agency (NEA) and project leader for the ChiNorBC and ChiNorCH4 projects on the Norwegian side. She is responsible for and has developed the field of short-lived climate forcers (SLCF) at NEA the last ten years.  The Agency's work has contributed to place Norway in the forefront in developing integrated policy strategies for abatement of climate change and air pollution. NEA is the focal point for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and Vestreng has been instrumental in the Panel's decision to develop globally applicable Guidelines to estimate emissions of SLCF.

Her research interest is in monitoring, modeling, and mitigation technology associated with GHG and odorous gases emission from animal feeding operations (AFOs), her extension focuses on livestock and rural waste management in sustainable agriculture, she is working in work package of Outcome 2.

She works in Section for Circular Waste Management and is responsible for analysis and development of climate measures in the agriculture sector. She will participate on the Norwegian side together with Mepex on waste related issues in the ChiNorCH4 project.
